Kenya's Bridgestone Kosgey has set a new world record in the 16-year-old women's marathon. That was at the recent Chicago Marathon.
In 2003, Paula Radcliffe broke the previous record of 2 hours, 15 minutes and 25 seconds at the London Marathon. Kosgey finished the race in the Chicago Marathon in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 4 seconds.
Ababel Yeshako of Ethiopia finished 2nd in the Chicago Marathon with a time of 2 hours 20 minutes 54 seconds.
At the end of the match, one of the most notable of all was Paula Radcliffe, the former world record holder, who greeted Kenyan cricketer Brigid Kosgei, who set the new world record.
