A four-day cricket match between the Essex County team and the Marlibbon Cricket Club in Britain has been scheduled for next year.
The four-match state championship team has traditionally been competing with the MCC team since the 1970s.
However, the MCC did not join the competition, although it has traditionally been held since 1901.
This year's traditional match will be held from March 24 to 27, with this year's champions, Essex, competing.
Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara will be the captain of the MCC team.
Meanwhile, the MCC World Cricket Committee is due to meet in March next year.
